Our History
We are a holistic natural rearer of part European and full European Boxers which we lovingly raise
in our home in Alpine, NY. We live in the country on an 80-acre hobby farm with fields and trails,
so our Boxer crew spends their time wading in ponds, running trails, and being working and fun-loving
farm dogs as we care for our animals: cows, pigs, chickens, etc. We seek to better the breed as
we carefully breed for health, temperament, and conformation to improve the next generations.
About Me
My name is Jerrica Brown and I am the breeder behind Kickin Rooster AKC Boxers.
My husband Richard and our 3 beautiful children also help support this journey!
We have a passion for this breed, clean living, fresh air, and growing/raising our own food.
I have over 35 years of experience with Boxers. I grew up with this breed and did AKC junior handling in conformation shows in my earlier years. I am now active in performance sports, barn hunt, obedience,
and trick dog with our Boxers. I have also started getting back into the conformation ring the past 3 years.
Outside of Boxer life, I work in Business Administration and also enjoy refinishing furniture and doing
DIY in my spare time. My husband is a career firefighter in Ithaca, NY. We also have 3 beautiful children.
Together, we thoroughly enjoy being active outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling on our
trails with our dog crew... as well as spontaneous adventures as a family! Our children are full of fun
and energy and love exploration and play time with our Boxers. They are a big help with desensitizing
our puppies to a wide variety of household/kid noises through the raising process.
How did you get into breeding?
I have been around Boxers my entire life. My father raised them when I was growing up. That is
how I developed my love for this breed. Boxers are a very loyal, fun loving, and active breed. They
are terrific family dogs. They have so much to offer a family that can meet their energy needs.
It is my goal to place them in wonderful loving homes.
What makes your breeding program special?
We are deeply committed to the quality and ethics of our program. We are holistic and natural
minded in our approach to raising our dogs and litters. Our desire is to lessen the toxic burden on
our Boxers and improve their health and longevity.
We look closely at health, temperament, and conformation when breeding. We pay careful attention to
offset faults and pair appropriately to improve each generation. We are consistently evaluating our
breeding goals and planned litters in the hopes to bring out the features we wish to see in our offspring.
We raise our puppies with puppy culture enrichment methods to give them the best start. Finding the best
homes for our puppies is our priority. We care very much about proper placement and the homes where
our puppies are matched. In order to better match puppies with their families, we wait to make placement
decisions for our puppies until after puppies are 7-7 1/2 weeks old. Our placement decisions at that
time are based on breeder observation, temperament testing, and family compatibility questionnaires.
Proper socialization, unique play, early potty/crate training, activities and challenges, natural/holistic
rearing, vet checks, lifetime breeder support, return to breeder clause, private Facebook group for litter
mates, full contract, etc. are what you will find when we place a puppy with your family. We care about
our puppies for life. Our character and ethics through this process is equally important to us.
